Hi, I’m Matt Cardinal.
I have been creating user experiences at IBM for over 4 years. In that time I have learned so much about the importance of identifying the right problems to solve. Working as part of an effective team requires alignment and an understanding of how our teammates on the business and development sides work. It isn’t easy, but I have seen the power design thinking can bring to clarify problems. I’ve also seen teams fall to pieces. Lessons learned in these tough situations are invaluable.
I have a lifelong passion for exploring the visual world, and over ten years of bicycle industry experience, including starting my own company, Signal Cycles. I have a BFA from PNCA in Portland where I studied painting, and a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
I am currently a user experience designer at IBM on the Hybrid Cloud team.
My life has been intertwined with bicycles ever since I learned to ride at the age of four and instantly got my pants caught in the chain.
